It comprises 6,832 hectares and is located 35 km. from the city of Algol, in the highest section of the Nahuelbuta mountain range, on the road to Vegas Blancas.

This is the only sector of the Cordillera da Costa where there is a higher concentration of Araucaria, besides lenga, long-leafed mañío, oak and coigüe. The fauna is composed by chilotes foxes, pudú, churrín, chucao, quique and endangered black carpenter, among others.



The climate in the park sector is temperate and warm with 6 months of rain. The summer is dry and hot and from June to September snowfall occurs. The annual temperature is 13º C.



It has hiking trails such as Piedra del Águila, Cerro Anay, El Arbol or Repu Aliwen.



The camping area is Pehuenco, located immediately to the administration and has 10 places with table, benches, stoves, water, rustic laundry, bathroom. It is located 42 km from Angol and 58 km from Cañete. It is open to the public all year round.

From Angol: land route through Vegas Blancas. From Cañete: by land to the Pichinahuel nursery.

The trip takes only an hour and the road is gravel until you enter the park. Access is easier in summer and the rest of the year dual-wheel drive vehicles should be used after consulting with the local tourist office.



This park has several attractions, including Piedra del Águila, a natural lookout point from which you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Andes; Las Turberas (area of ​​scientific interest) where insectivorous plants stand out; Pehuenco Valley, Pichinahuel Hill, Morro Anay and Coimalín.
