On the banks of the River Corrib in Galway city centre, the award-winning Herons Rest Boutique B&B offers a three bedroom self-catering town house which sleeps 5 guests. Featured in Conde Nast Traveller, The Irish Times and Food & Travel Magazine among others, its rooms look out over picturesque Claddagh Harbour, and offer free Wi-Fi throughout.
Each room has a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and speciality teas and coffee with chocolates, mineral water and a decanter of port. Beds have luxury orthopaedic mattresses and are dressed with high-quality linens, and private bathrooms have bathrobes, slippers and toiletries supplied.
A basic breakfast box can be prebooked and purchased for an additional charge and includes fresh juice, freshly baked breads, butter, jam, home made muesli with yoghurt and fruit. A second option for a Gourmet breakfast box is also possible and includes the above along with farm fresh eggs, house relish, farmhouse cheeses with smoked salmon or ham. This is delivered to your kitchen in the morning.
On Ireland’s western coast, Galway has a variety of traditional Irish pubs and music venues within 10 minutes’ walk of this guest house. The region of Connemara offers a landscape of rugged coastline, isolated beaches, mountains and lakes.
